Two Doctor Who Christmas specials on the list without mention of the first, and best one? The Christmas Invasion might not be as stand-alone as the Christmas Carol episode - but it has The Doctor popping Christmas crackers with the Tyler's to a great original song that sounds like something of of a Phil Spector

I'm doubting the Enterprise takes a dip in the drink - can't be moving on to 1701-A already, can we? My guess on the chronology is the memorial is at the beginning, during which Khan or whoever's attack knocks some ships out of orbit, which propels the rest of the story onward. I'm impressed with whoever was able to

Same here. Already got one alternate universe going in the reboot let's not start another each sequel.

I expect that, given Lucas's love of motif (or lazy repetitive storytelling depending on how you look at it) Luke will fill the shoes that Obi-Wan did in the original Trilogy. Highly probable he will be a slightly mysterious character that a young Jedi (probably one of Han and Leia's kids) will have to seek out.

Yep, that's what came to my mind too. Nicely seamless loop on that gif there. :)

Yes, I'm aware of the correct order. As I learned them, we didn't typically include the sun in the counting of planetary orbits. So "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies" (Yes, I learned Pluto as a planet too) changed to the above, which does place Earth 4th instead of it's proper 3rd place. I do think

Mnemonic: My Very Mad Educator Just Said "Uh... No."

Ha! I forgot about that!

I'll always look back fondly on those ridiculous comic book tie-in episodes that had Solomon Grundy or Lex Luthor trying to run off with Hostess fruit pies, only to be thwarted by Superman. *sigh*

Yeah, this was one of the things I liked about the movie. The movie overall wasn't bad, wasn't great, but I did like the return of Spidey's quips. Always felt like it was missing in the Raimi movies.

More John Simms as The Master would be lovely - but I would also love a little more Derek Jacobi's Master prior his assumption of the Professor Yana persona. Maybe something involving River Song pushing him into the choice of fleeing to the end of time. :)

I went through a period when I was a kid where I was obsessed with UFOs. When I was in my early twenties I finally saw something strange in the sky. I was out at night and looking at stars, and then something large swept across the sky. It didn't have any lights on it, and didn't seem to make any sound. From the stars

"Wonderful heart ache" is a great turn of phrase that really speaks to what I admire most in movies and TV.

Excellent list. I haven't tried to delve into Game of Thrones yet - but your case for Peter Dinklage has piqued my interest.

Yes. 11 year-old me never understood why people were so disappointed with that movie. :)

Looks like they took the effects shots from "Devil's Night" in The Crow to save on pyro-production costs. Hope that's just for the trailer.

I know this is nerdy as hell, but hey - you brought up Star Wars. This describes Krypton in the John Byrne Man of Steel mini-series in 1986. I know a lot of people hated it - but it's always worked for me. Superman's rocket carries an artificial womb to Earth, where the gestation is completed and he is 'born'. So in

Actually, I think it's a nose, but it bears a strong resemblance to Kelly LeBrock's wireframe chest in Weird Science. :)
