Yeah, a lot of the time I'll need to go buy some new tools for a new project, and it's usually much cheaper to just run over there instead of Home Depot.
I use jack stands from Harbor Freight. They are much cheaper, and seem to work just fine. Some people don't like to trust their 'cheap' stuff, but I think they work just fine.
