Wow. Tasteless.
Just like this Corvette.

Good point. Though after so many years, it's kind of retreating into the unknown this side of the pond.
I think the MOGRO acronym avoids that stigma, though.
Nonsensical names are good, though if they were following the tech industry, they'd take a smart-sounding English word and replace the prefix/suffix with a useless one, maybe remove a letter; Advantage => Avantex, Intel => Entel.
Entel Motors ain't great, but hey, I'm not being paid for this.
Ha!
Although I thought it would be MOGRO. Which sounds vaguely Italian; definitely better.
In all honesty, I think a clean, fresh, yet slightly ambiguous new name is the best idea. Both of these companies have history, but it's not necessarily history they want to constantly invoke going forward.
Been Kanye binging recently:
Seriously.
I mean I like the Volvo, but literally 10 people will buy it in North America. And previous Polestar attempts haven't lived up to the concept.
The Mustang is at least as exciting a proposition.
If you're a normal person, you don't take a duck confit from the haute French restaurant and smother it in Kraft cheese slices. You don't splice in a scene of you dancing in the middle of a screening of The Godfather.
That's unfortunate.
I think you can compare, say McLaren and Ferrari mid-range supercars, or entry-level Lexus and Cadillac, because they're competing on the same field.
Whereas the Mustang is on its own plane, bar none.
I agree. TT is a touchstone for people who just don't get it, but I never mistake my car for an Audi.
Exactly.
Looks like you and Oakland were made for each other.
I bet you were one of those people who said the Mustang looks like an Accord, weren't you?
That's it's appeal (to me at least). It's seeing wanton surfaces and lines and tangents, but knowing that they aren't random in actuality. They started it with the LFA, but took it to even greater heights with their RC coupe.
Another one that I saw a couple of months ago: the angle of the taillight catches the d pillar…
