If you're a normal person, you don't take a duck confit from the haute French restaurant and smother it in Kraft cheese slices. You don't splice in a scene of you dancing in the middle of a screening of The Godfather.

That's unfortunate.

I think you can compare, say McLaren and Ferrari mid-range supercars, or entry-level Lexus and Cadillac, because they're competing on the same field.

Whereas the Mustang is on its own plane, bar none.

I agree. TT is a touchstone for people who just don't get it, but I never mistake my car for an Audi.

Exactly.

Looks like you and Oakland were made for each other.

I bet you were one of those people who said the Mustang looks like an Accord, weren't you?

That's it's appeal (to me at least). It's seeing wanton surfaces and lines and tangents, but knowing that they aren't random in actuality. They started it with the LFA, but took it to even greater heights with their RC coupe.

Another one that I saw a couple of months ago: the angle of the taillight catches the d pillar

The LFA's design has a lot of subtle harmonies. The side grill openings echo the vanes in the mirrors, for example.

You're crazy. '90's MOPAR concepts are some of the best! That first 300 was essentially a Fisker minus the awful grille.

I don't see a single proportion that's shared. Not even the DLOs are similar; the AM has a more similar proportion to the Mustang than the Accord.

Like this looks the same too, eh?

I'm hoping it's more greenish. Magnetic looks a bit brown, but it could be grey as well.

I thing Ford is going to follow the iPhone strategy.

Mid-cycles with new drivetrain options limit the amount of things to fail/recall, and keep the car in enthusiasts' minds.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Coyote got forced induction as well on option above the GT. The supercharged 5.0 block Ford makes for Jaguar puts out

The rear fenders, and even the front fenders, are very similar to the 10-14s, with bigger wheels. The biggest change, though, is blacking out the b pillar, in effect extending the glasshouse, a la Aston Martin.

Eh. Strange to say but I suspect the Ford may be lighter this time around.

Sat in one too at Woodward this year. There are a lot of good elements but a) it has a somewhat sterile, anodized feel to me; and b) the proportions are off, specifically the ratio of glass house to the body from the side is about 5-10% off.

It sounds paradoxical how something can be both sterile and over exaggerated,

There should be some Godwin's Law of internet car design discussions about the Ssangyong Rodius. Point taken.
