I think you like this car because it has an everyday usable performance envelope and is reasonably affordable.

Software is amortized over a lot larger sales base and at a lower individual consumer cost than automotive products.

I don't think there's a one size fits all kind of car. And everything seems to be sacrificed for that extra practicality (cargo area, seating for 7 in a one-person commuter car, road-trip range) that people barely use even 1% of the vehicle's life.
