They definitely do. I live in Detroit and i see them all the time. It is funny this winter, every day there has been a herd of 2015 GM Full Size Pickups at the McDonald's I get my breakfast burrito from every morning. They all have M plates and big yellow stickers on the gas door that say Diesel or Unleaded.

In the US it is. I think it is because they have to have a plate to be driven legally and they don't want to appear to be from any particular location. I am sure someone knows the real reason but all car adverts in the US have body color plates.
