My tv has a "game mode" that lowers latency in exchange for looking pretty (I don't really know what it does, I just know it looks a little worse).

I still comment and read lots of comments, but you're right about the blog view. If it goes I don't know if I'll be able to keep reading Gizmodo, which I might add is my favorite website and has been for years. I don't understand what they have against chronological organization...
The standalone part makes me think of Operation Anchorage in Fallout 3. You go to a whole new place and see whole new things, I just enjoyed it because I got to leave the green and brown hellhole that was the capital wastes.

For Skyrim (or any Bethesda game) I have them on, because I can read faster than they can speak, and most of the dialogue is already in text form, so it's just easier that way. Other games though I leave them off, as you said the it kind of ruins the immersion.
I think the distinction between "DJs" like Deadmau5 and DJs who don't play "EDM" should be made. I've been to shows where real DJs are mixing songs (on vinyl) in real time. I never did get the point of EDM concerts...
