You know what? This car has a personality. If these were all gone, people would miss being offended by them. I say buy it, drive it, preserve it.

How is the center of gravity on these? Does it corner OK and do high winds move it at all? I reckon it would be a great storm chase vehicle.
Love it!
The whole car is gorgeous, but I keep going back to the engine bay. Everything in it is a work of art.
Awesome. Really impressive season so far, wish I was there this year :-(
Not entirely relevant to the article but I thought you might enjoy this. It's kind of surreal, looking like an early 2000's Top Gear episode, except it's in Russian, and the presenter has an impressive mustache, and he's reviewing an old van in some guys back yard. I'm not sure why it exists, but I'm glad it does.
Love the review, keep up the articles on unique vehicles like this! I'd expect the diesel is in a low state of tune to allow for infrequent oil changes, excessive heat and general neglect that's expected. For a few hunneds, help it breathe with a bigger intake and exhaust, wind up the fuel delivery, block off EGRs. It…
Low HP isn't necessarily slow; diesels, due to their long stroke, often have loads of torque but have small horsepower figures. With the right gearing, this can translate in to a quick vehicle.
What the hell is this? A pompadour?
I think there's some appeal to driving a three cylinder car - it's a little quirky, and you know it's going to run on the smell of an oily rag. I'd love to stick a straight exhaust on one and buzz around in what sounds like an overgrown lawn mower. Having said that, the Metro is one ugly little critter, while the…
Don't know what Mitsu is doing wrong in the 'States. here in Australia they seem to be doing quite well. According to this they are just below Ford in sales. Then again, we buy twice as many Toyotas as any other manufacturer, so maybe we just love dull cars compared to you guys.
Beaut car, you dodged a bullet with the Prelude... the old dual carb setup with all the vacuum control lines is a PITA and never runs right.
Magnificent machines, I could watch them all day long. Russia has to have some of the most treacherous and isolated terrain on earth, and the design of these vehicles reflect that. The motors are mounted up behind the cab to keep them from ingesting water, mud and small animals. Masses of torque - often in excess of…
Yes. My experience was with a 1984 Honda Prelude, a great performing and handling car, but it broke down several times and often ran badly, thanks to having dual carbs which never stayed in tune, vacuum control systems that required some sort of black magic to understand, and some of Hondas first attempts at…
Looks like a BMW M1 Homage Concept with jacked up suspension. I love it.
I found one of these for sale last week, the rear hatch was removed and the guy had been using it as a ute (pickup) for work. It was pictured with a cement mixer sitting in the back.
Not really a rental, but a mechanic once loaned me an ancient Mazda 323 with no power assist on the brakes. If you've every tried to stop a car rolling with the engine off, you know what I'm talking about. That was some scary driving.
Back when I was a lad, I had a 1979 Honda Prelude, which I loved dearly. One day I found water pouring out of a cracked hose. My solution was to seal off the hose with a large bolt. Little did I know, I'd just disconnected the engine block cooling jacket from the radiator. Three days later, the water was now pouring…
