Yep. They make nice shiny things, but I wouldn't want my life to depend on them; they just break things too often. It would take a lot for people to trust them, but it's not impossible, just look at Tesla, an unknown that's now becoming quite an established player.

Shame you guys don't get Skoda over there, you can get an MQB platform sedan or wagon with pretty much any of the VAG motors you want, for a lot less than a similarly equipped VW. I've got my eye on either a 147 kw RS, or a 350 Nm diesel, silver (not brown) Octavia wagon, with a stick for my next dd.

I always guess cars at night from headlights and tail lights, it's funny sometimes the cars that you can get confused - like a Celica with a Hilux (it's happened!).

That's interesting - I had an '03 with the VVT motor, sold it but have been thinking about getting an NA with the 1.8. On paper the 8 or so killerwasps difference doesn't look much, will I be disappointed with the power and be better off with an NB2 again I wonder?
