I think she's just supposed to be a person of a similar background to your average HBO subscriber. Viewers don't like to be shown a mirror, so the unlikable aspects are exaggerated so people don't realize she is a worse version of themselves.

I feel like there is also a market for people who want a 'retro' iPod classic look. The rounded edges kind of remind me of the click wheel era ones.

You said you can't FORCE people to not make those jokes. Norton's whole point was that the weapon people use to censor is by boycotting the advertisers. So aside from that, how are people forcing comedians not to make those jokes? By not watching their shows? By not liking them?
