Pretty and functional is a difficult mark to hit. The LeMat’s guard and grip and lines are all necessary to hand the recoil and jam that shotgun barrel onto the otherwise fairly standard revolver.

Called the LeMat. Designed by a fellow in New Orleans named, uh, Jean Alexander LeMat. A .36 caliber percussion cap revolver and a 20 gauge smoothbore for close-in shots, it was used in the Army of the Confederacy during the Civil War.
The Man in Black’s version is heavily blued, but otherwise looks pretty stock.
