I don't think we can assume they had a romantic relationship. The statement in question can mean so many things, and can refer to a friendship as well as a romantic entanglement.

If you send her the email and she doesn't respond, then you have written record. This is a good weapon to use, because she would have to explicitly write back to deny that it happened/engage with you. Choosing not to is tacit agreement that things happened the way you said. I've used it several times.

I think it would derail the issue at the core of this ad campaign. I'm Hindu and I can see how this campaign could be considered offensive by many Hindus. My own initial reaction to seeing three celebrated Hindu goddesses depicted like this was not altogether positive.

I hope so too. I just hope the discussion isn't overtaken by people outraged over the use of Hindu goddesses for this campaign. That would be an unfortunate derailing of the main message.

Yes...let's equate the appropriation of a religious and cultural symbol with ridiculous cultural stereotypes in pasta commercials. That seems like a good comparison.
