What an idiot!

"Impactful" is definitely a fitting word when describing Columbus' effect on the Americans of the time... :P

I'm starting to think that everybody but Columbus knew about the Americas. When Isabella said he could have ships, everybody else must have been like, "But there's a whole 'nother continent ..." And Isabella was all, "Shush. This will be hilarious."

It also sounds like you invented shoes!

Is Columbus discovering America something that we're even still talking about? Hasn't there been evidence of many other cultures getting here first? And why do we even care? He discovered a place where people already lived. That's not a feat. I do that every day.

I'd travel back to 1787 and kidnap the Framers of the US Constitution and force them to live as penniless, undocumented immigrants in the modern US for several years if not decades (I'm assuming modern medicine will keep them alive long enough). I'd then collect and return any survivors to the exact second I'd taken

African American, gay and female. I love the idea of time travel, but there's no time in the western world previous to the past 30 years that wouldn't suck for me. It's one of the reasons my friends and I never go in costume to the ren fair. What would we wear? Sack cloths and chains?

To the earliest point in the future at which an effective immortality treatment is available. (Making sure to make a variety of investments before leaving so i'd have some way to support myself when i got there.) Once i've got that i can continue to travel into the future indefinitely at a slow and relaxed pace.

Female lead (over 40), box office record, surpassed expections by $20M, 54% male/46% female audience but remember Hollywood thinks women can't open action movies and women don't like action movies. Enjoy your week, Ms. Bullock.

I find myself in the same boat. The cast is great, though. Card's shadow hanging over it may just increase my ambivalence about it.

People like you are like MRAs. On every article about fat-shaming, somebody has to chime in with "But people are skinny-shamed too! Being fat isn't the only source of ridicule! Derailment Derailment Derailment". It's like how every article about women being raped is met with comments by MRAs "Men get raped too, you

Messed with my white man superiority ideas a somethin fierce.

It's gender-specific, unfortunately.

This is an absolutely disgusting occurrence, and I wish this "comedian" the worst. I feel sorry for what Laura had to deal with. I'm really proud that she came out and put his name there for everyone to see. That's how this should be handled.

That aside, I have a little correction for Kotaku.

"Female" is a sex, not a

I guess the difference here is they were at a console demonstration, not a comedy routine. There's certain expectations when you elect to go see a standup comedian. But when you're "tricked" (for lack of a better word) into seeing one those expectations are different. Some people may not like the insult comedy, and so

Why the hell do people have to be such asshats? Not just in the video game industry (although quite a lot seem to congregate there) but anywhere? I just don't understand it.

Well... I kinda agree we should eradicate PETA...
