If Dawkins is a headliner, I'm certain he'd make sure that skeptchick couldn't be there.

I can't imagine why the women they approached declined the invitation. Weird.

"Intellectual" men are the worst.

"As scientists we have no other choice to accept reality" aka the status quo.

It's harmful to the regularly victimized and aligns well with systems of oppression when people make the silly argument that "you just need to stop allowing yourself to be affected by things". It is not the responsibility of the oppressed to stop being affected by oppression, and it is completely unreasonable to

You first, jackass.

This is a debate you and I and others can have as adult trans women. But this is not an adult. This is a child. I'm not about to hold some of the issues you've brought up against her for that reason.

"Yes, those two boys crossed the line,” said one parent closely connected to the case.

Longtime guidance counselor John Lee Gillison said Big Red players deserve recognition because they’re held to a higher standard.

"Adults in Steubenville are sick of thinking about how she feels."

It's terrible that innocent people were dragged into this, especially the children of the coach. But dammit, they're still treating their high school athletes like demigods. That's a big, big problem, and it IS the fault of the school and greater community.
