Yep. That’s how it is here in the DC/Va/Md area. We have talented photographers and cosplayers who work together and no money is exchanged. TFP is a good system.

For what it’s worth, as somebody who cosplays pretty regularly, I think it’s ridiculous for amateur photographers to be charging people to take their photos at conventions. It’s gotten pretty bad over the last couple of years, and it didn’t used to be this way.

Can we just drop tipping and make restaurant owners pay their employees a living wage? Build it into the price of the menu items. When people no longer show up because their Olive Garden meal costs too much then we can adjust or eat at home. Tipping that is expected is a ridiculous model.
