Hey buddy
Hey buddy
Door’s open?
Last year, we assigned a bigger story on this. We’re supposed to have it in February, I’m really looking forward to reading it.
We had a feature on Mikka and the car in Autoweek a few months ago. Awesome guy, incredible car. http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/underdog-starlet-went-rust-bucket-rally-rocket
WRC uses DJI drones in their coverage of the events for WRC+, it was probably one of theirs. There’s a big DJI banner just to the left of the jump.
Hey
Congrats!
Man, if only you knew someone who owned a ‘48 with a working starter and generator...
Raph...thank you. I agree. Though I have to say, Early CJs are a lot of cheap fun, and they aren’t all used up. Just don’t buy one that someone else was trying to throw away, unless you’re trying to be a hero, like David.
Dude, just take mine.
I’m a big fan of 80s cars with box flares, but I’d have a hard time calling them beautiful. I’d say the most beautiful cars came out of the late 50s-early 60s. Though some really attractive cars came out of the malaise-era, I think most would agree that it was a high watermark for bad automotive design.
Shit, missed the part about the alignment. Now I’m not so sure.
It’s a 2107, Kamil from Hooniverse is supposed to be getting it race ready for this LeMons season
At 15 or 16, $200 Plymouth Horizon, then Dodge Dynasty, MKII GTI, Audi 90, MK5 GTI, ‘84 911, ‘72 Beetle, ‘87 Lada, ‘69 Ford LTD, WJ, ‘48 Willy’s, Mk7 GTI. That might not be everything, but if not it’s close.
I’m going to log off for a minute so Raph can actually work, but I’ll check back later today. Thanks for the questions and to Jalopnik for hosting me!
Well, when I built the Lada, I had to order parts from a company called, IIRC, WolfMotor.ru. It was scary. I know there’s a guy in Miami who now imports and sells Lada stuff. But as far as running your own super-rare racing hoopty, I’d say that patience and ingenuity go a long way. We ended up making a lot of parts…
Absolutely. Thanks for the question!
Car sharing is interesting because, at least in cities, it’s pervasive, but I think unless it gets automated, it’s hard to see it working as a business. Automation is one of those things that if you give me a couple of beers, I’ll talk about for hours. I think it’s going to have a huge impact on our world and we’re…
She’s likely to be moving on up.
No idea, I can ask him!
