I think we can all agree that the best usage for Google Translate is to be able to drunkenly TXT back-and-forth with your friends in Italian and Swahili

Kind of in the same boat. 90% where I want to be physique-wise actually. I'm just not willing to make the eating habits sacrifice necessary to drop the last few pounds around the midsection. If I can inhale/flex and see the abs then I'm good with that.

Agreed. The advent of the DVR has already changed the way people watch TV FAR more than even Netflix has. For more traditional, non-event (i.e., sports, gameshow/competition-based) programming people now are content to let things queue up and then have a marathon of shows. This groundwork for this 'all-at-once'

May ease a bit of the sting of losing Starz content (with the new Spartacus season launching) at the same time.

I think they make quite a bit of money from the online side as well (webcam shows, etc.) Or at least, that's what I remember from watching Cathouse.

Agreed. A guy I was talking with at a holiday party was a manager at Best Buy and he said those things were flying off the shelves. That $199 pricepoint (from a major/respected brand) was huge. $250 and it's only a minor hit. But by hitting $199 they made it a grand slam and probably the most-wanted gift of 2011.

If I were surprised I'd be disappointed. As is, I pretty much figured Gingerbread would be the official end-of-life OS for my Epic. And honestly I'm ok with that at this point. The device is over a year old yet still FLIES in comparison to its contemporaries (and even many newer devices.) An official upgrade would

Pretty sure Apple has patent for Carbon at this point too. That's its ace in the hole

Got 2 tablets (iPad and Nook) as well as a Dell Mini 9 laying around the den and still use the Mini a lot more than I ever thought I would. It's not the default device anymore for sure, but there are just times when you either need a keyboard or the more robust capabilities of a non-mobile OS. It's not blazing fast

I for one welcome our new Android overlords

Indeed. The 'Christmas HD' wallpaper they have today is pretty cool

One of my go-to movies to stream for sleepless nights. Put it on, settle in with a comfy show you've seen dozens of times and don't worry about the runtime ending before you doze off.

The Android app has been a train wreck since ~June. I actually used to prefer it to the 3rd parties (and went back to v2.1.1 as it works properly.) Everything after that though (and sadly it's only been a couple of updates) have been a non-stop stream of crashes, force closes, etc.

You own a Motorola I take it? Most of the Samsung cameras are very good actually.

Indeed. Besides the whole love-it/hate-it filter stuff, wasn't one of the main reasons it became popular in the first place is that it allowed you to share photos more easily to Facebook/Twitter - because the default iPhone camera app didn't do that? Most Android devices have had that functionality built into the

It can go either way. But if HP's naming it then it's guaranteed to be horrific.

The sad thing is there's FINALLY some decent Android tablet offerings out there (Fire, GalaxyTab, etc) - but unfortunately the elcheapo Polaroid and PanDigital things are going to put a bad taste in a lot of peoples' mouths. I saw one at Kohl's the other day and messed with it for a second. It wasn't even a

Agreed. It gives them a nice cop-out to play the unlimited card while starting to reign in 4G usage (as the carriers are all clearly terrified by the prospect of people actually using the service.)

Without alcohol you're even more aware of the awkwardness of the forced conversations with people you don't work with regularly.

Is Google Voice not available on other carriers now? I'm on Sprint and just assumed everyone had it now. Granted, I guess VZW and AT&T don't like the idea of people not having to pay for TXT plans, but still
