They were busy striking for union rights last week you moron

Why is gas cheaper in rural America where it needs to be freighted around compared to the coastal cities where it lands at port?

Sounds about white

It’s overkill until a bird flies by the camera and you run over and kill a biker. It’s unsafe and poor engineering to not having redundant systems in place, especially when it’s all in the name of saving money.

I hope Mazda gets to use this platform for themselves, but currently is seems Lexus has their hands all over it

Volvo’s next generation EV platform, specifically the next gen “XC90" (name pending). Mostly because somehow Volvo never has anything leak; there’s no spy shots, no internal leaks from suppliers - nothing to go off of except whenever they make a PR statement.

This doesn’t make any sense...? Adjustable coefficient of friction ≠ diameter. From my understanding, it means that when the driver makes a mistake, the wheel will become more grippy for better control of the car.

Tesla has always been about cost optimizing; for better or worse. No physical switchgear, no gauge cluster, no dealerships, the octovalve, etc etc etc

LIDAR losers, none of whom have managed to build a successful business in over a decade

Like others said it depends on the brand. Most mainstream cars only have 2-3 packages to choose from, and most on the lot are equipped with the most popular packages, so really the only thing to worry about is the color. A lot of other features are dealer-installed, such as roof racks and storage solutions.

Tesla isn’t the only option. Polestar has a good hybrid system where you can do everything online without hassle/markups and have it dropped off, and/or stop by a physical Space to test drive and pickup.

Meanwhile most Lambo dealers are happy to let any commoner come in off the street and sit in a $200k supercar.

These comments really prove that “cheap” is subjective.

Not to be a harsh critic, but this kind of sounds like a high school drama kid getting high off their own BS. “She was an orphan and loves stray cats who are also orphans! It takes a certain kind of person to understand this deep deep deep metaphor. I’m a genius!”

Can we talk about how Mk7s still look great 6 years on

Did anyone else think this was a VinFast commercial? Someone might want to tell them that DRL signature is already called for...

Do you have any other recommendations? I frequent arstechnica, verge and engadget but sure there’s more I’m missing

Different thing. Honda’s is a blind spot detection system only used when the blinker is on. OP is talking about a constant video feed that replaces side mirrors completely.

I don’t think this type of strategy is going to work for the young/frugal demographic they’re trying to target. The rich can throw down money on a non existent car that won’t be released for years and be A-OK, but I doubt someone looking to spend $20-30k is willing to wait around, wading through all the BS of

Let’s keep this momentum and expand to affordable Mopeds. Cities like Los Angeles could really benefit by adopting EV mopeds, at least for putzing around town. Look at Taipei for a good example.
