I’m biased because I own one, but the Golf Alltrack. I come across another one on the road maybe once a month. Such a pity they stopped bringing them stateside...

my first question would be how the airbag could deploy without spearing shards of Gorilla Glass at the driver’s face.
Is the special consumption tax irrelevant with EVs?
If it’s setup like the Escalade, then the auxiliary controls are for settings that would otherwise be buried in a menu elsewhere; gauge menus, driver safety settings, heads up display, etc. Arguably better having them at a static location on a screen vs having to dig through a menu or fiddle with steering wheel…
I’m ok with obnoxiously large screens when they’re done purposefully, and Cadillac seems to be doing just that. 33" sounds large, but it’s more manageable when you consider it’s also the gauge cluster and auxiliary controls, and it’s only ~ 8" tall.
I own that exact Alltrack in the photo. It’s the perfect do-all car. Just buy it.
They should’ve held off until the range extended model. A hybrid-rotary 2 door SUV with rear suicide doors and funky interior with cork trim? I wouldn’t say no...
Let’s take it 1 step further; if you aren’t wearing a seatbelt and get into a crash, then OnStar shouldn’t be activated and instead it should call your mother to rat you out.
VW has never been the same since Piëch left...
I know what lidar is; I was saying that Volvo are getting to L3/L4 by not relying 100% on image processing like Tesla so stubbornly claims is the superior way. Both methods have their pros and cons, but having lidar (or hardware in general) + Waymo’s 10 years of R&D in self-driving AI will fast track the process and…
They’re getting there by the help of an exclusive deal with Waymo and by using lidar
True, but you can develop L2 internally and not subject the general public to beta testing, and jump straight to releasing L3+. This is exactly what Volvo is doing.
Agreed. At the end of the day it’s really no more helpful than a well calibrated AAC with lane centering.
Why invest in basic things like improved QC or finishing development of the truck, roadster, semi, and probably something else I’m forgetting, when they can invest in ~*rObOtS*~ ?!
How do they weigh the same...? Does the Nevera’s larger 900hp motor weigh substantially more?
I’ll stick with the Ioniq 5...
Um, and the Baja
We definitely need Saturn more than we need Buick. Revive it as an affordable EV brand “built in the US”.
It looks like every other 80s-90s trailer inside.... the wood floors are nice though?
You lost me at the $1,600 power bank and $900 cooler...
