I agree that the sheer numerical differnce gives them the advantage. It has nothing to do with guts or tactics. Now, a modern platoon with its full assortment of weapons could probably take down a civil war regiment (with class V resupply). Ever seen what a claymore mine does to a Cavalry troop?

I’ve been an instructor on both. Those are the effective ranges. Total ballistic range much longer.Hell, the USMC shoots at 500 meters in its basic M4 qualification. The average Infantryman can hit a human with lethality at 500 meters.

A single soldier can carry and employ an M60 or M240. They have bipods for this reason.

Several hundred yards, sure. But not the 550 meters the M4 is accurate to or the 1200 meters the M240 can engage at.

Theatre can be quite violent as well.

Sure, and I stand by the idea that the market always corrects. The recession was largely unavoidable as were the ones before it. No economic model has proven to be recession proof, capitalism is arguably faster to recover but it’s far from perfect.

Riiiight. Community identity is often tied to sports franchises. People enjoy entertainment. No one bitches when taxpayers fit the bill for a symphony hall or theater. Both serve private organizations.

To this day it’s the only major war where both armies were using (basically) the same battle rifle. Long live the FAL.

I’m sure it worked fine. Glad it did. Where was you BII?

The problem with the original leatherman is that if you add any force when squeezing the pliers, the edges of the handles dig into your hands. I like the gerber, it’s what the Army has always issued me and it seems a bit better add overall. I was issued a Leatherman MUt recently, but it’s sorta a complicated mess by

Depends on the user. 16 years in the Army Infantry and am never without my Gerber multitool. Ive probably been issued 5 or 6 by now. Use the pliers frequently without issue. The blades a decent quality and the driver heads perfect.

BiMart is like your local general store, the one where you have ammo one isle over from the knockoff legos, decided to franchise but maintain all of its low budget charm. Prices are pretty dirt cheap on many items, floors are dirty, and you won’t recognize the brand names on most of the electronics or clothes, but

Not sure about that. Clinton pulled it off for most of a decade. Perhaps all economic growth eventually leads to recession regardless of how it happened—free market or government control. It’s no like socialist or communist nations have been without recession.

You are a delight.

You forget that Vietnam was a war began by democrats under Kennedy and escalated under Johnson. It make sense that a left leaning media wouldn’t go after their own party until the situation became untenniable...or a republican, Nixon, took office.

Only 17% of military members qualify for the 20 year pension. It’s not a huge scam.
