Interestingly enough, the indicator that the rear spoiler wasn't getting clean airflow over it was due to the lack of bugs on it compared to the nose of the car. I have a pic of the modified sheet metal tail they made for the car in one of my books. I can't seem to find an image online, however :/

The aerodynamics and handling were diabolical in the early models, which were trying to take off at speeds above 200mph.

The European engine isn't related to the S52. The S52 is completely unique in that it was essentially a bored and stroked version of the 2.8L M52. It's part of the reason some snooty purists don't call the US e36 M3 and early Z3Ms real M cars.

Link to said dyno plots for these 300hp cam-only S52s? Sorry, but I find it to be a load of crap when I've seen S52 cars with schrick cams, M50 manifold, intake and headerback exhaust make maybe 290hp at best. It would be cheaper just to go forced induction to get numbers equal to or better than an S54.

There's no way in hell you're making S54 numbers with just cams on an S52.
