Thanks for that! Now thinking about it, humans are the “Hold my beer, I’m gonna try somethin’” species of the universe. Maybe that’s why aliens have stayed away from us.

Glad you were that guy, as I learned something new. What still confuses me is why the DHA feel the need to go all Rambo with the raid.

Dear God how I hate those Frumpers. It almost makes me mad enough to punch babies.

I can’t comment on the 4Runner but my FJ does quite well off-road. It’s not the TRD package but it came with a rear locker which helps immensely. Mine’s pretty much stock but it’s gotten me pretty far and there is a large enough after market for it to take it as far as you’d want to go. For off-roading, for long

Sadly, the bumper is still the first thing I’d tear off and replace with a stubby bumper. I could see coming off a rock, hitting the corner, pushing it up and tearing off the fender.

I use this but on top of adding any change in the jar, I also throw in any $1's,$5's in there that I may have. Lately, I’ve been throwing in $50 (in cash) per pay check in there and leave alone for about a year. After a year I’ve got a nice chunk of change that I’ll use to spend on Jeep parts or any other item that

This. You don’t have to get the huge tractor tires either, cheap or free (although smaller) can be had from 4wheelparts. Tires in the 33-inch to 40-inch size are still pretty heavy and great for those who are just starting out.

this actually look like it can be stupid fun for hours on end. If Goat simulator had something like this (with goats of course) it’d be awesome.

Nice write up! I just did the brake pads in my FJ cruiser and those are actually very easy to do (easier than doing the brakes in my JK).

ok, I’m still drinking my morning coffee but when I first read the title it looked like it said “Ford Mustang Crashes Through Six Cars And A Fence, and Still At Large” yeah it’s going to be a long day.

Completely agree with this. Over the past 5 years, friends and I take a trip down to Johnson Valley for some off-roading and I’ve always had a signal in the middle of the desert with Verizon; the others are spotty at best.

It is very scary stuff. I think of all of the different impacts that I’ve had from different sports (surfing, skateboarding, boxing, jackassary, etc.) and wonder if that has or will have an impact on me down the road.

Funny you mention that, as a few months ago, a couple of union reps came to our employees to suggest becoming part of the union. They were hounding the employees to the point that HR complaints were made. The crap the union folks would pull were so shady, I really don’t see how any of them can or would be trusted.

Like others have mentioned, I started working on my cars by changing the oil and filter on my own at 16 because I didn’t have money to go to a shop. Over the years, death wobble and failure prone parts more or less forced me to learn to replace parts that I thought only master mechanics could do, like replace both

Excactly!!! it almost makes me angry enough to punch babies.

Much agree with this. I don’t care about concept rigs as they’ll never get made (also didn’t they already do this with the NUkaiser?). Jeep needs to come out with a stripped down Rubicon, with no power windows, no leather seats, fancy trim or any of that crap, a race spec welded cage and Dana 60's front and rear.
That,

Have to agree as well. I’d hate to have this set up on top of my rig while crawling on trails that are tight to begin with and see it scrape or break off while hitting a tree or something. Another thing that makes me hesitate buying on is that at the end of a day of wheeling, I like to drink, lots, so adding a ladder

Friends and I were there from Wed through Sat and man it was a blast (this will be our 5th time there and it always gets better). Just blasting across the desert is fun in its own right and the rock trails have something for everyone but your rig will break if you push it too hard. As for the race, if you’ve never

I was lucky to be at the 2013 King of the Hammers event and saw a small, Toyota pick-up (built for the Every Man Challenge that could be driven to the trail and back home) racing along side rigs that were well over the $100k mark. Without power steering and no GPS (they had to use a map torn from a raceprogram), they

This is a good way to go because then you still have a way to get to work or to the auto parts store when the beater just won’t run (and it allows you to take your time).
