So basically, it’s like the wind up launcher that we used to have for the Evel-Kinevel motorcycle back in the day?

^X2 Add in a vehicle trailer to tow a Jeep or UTV and this would be the perfect camping rig. For example, heading out to Moab or watching King of the Hammers for a week, where it serves as home base while someone’s out doing their thing.
That was my first thought until I saw the image of the rear axle, that thing is huge and it’d be torn up really fast on the trail. It does give me hope though that in the future, something smaller or more compact might be developed
Those cars were awesome! I had the 1st gen Sport Coupe and I learned how to drive stick in it as it was a hand me down from my dad, that had90k miles when he gave it to me and around 250k (after many trips from San Jose to Santa Cruz to go surfing and then to SF to see the girlfriend back home to SJ 2-4 times a week) a…
This one always takes me back when I used to play NFS: Underground:
Very interesting! it’d be cool to see one of these plopped into an older flat fender Jeep and wheel the crap out of it. I wonder what the range of one of these would be when you’re on the trail, using more torque to go over rocks.
Yes, with some King Coilover shocks, 35's and more up wheel travel
This is a no dice. All that work into swapping a 4BT and running 37's but no mention of any axle upgrades (I may have missed it in the add)?
That’s a great video. I’m not one for reaction videos but those two are worth watching. Also found these two guys,
I guess that explains why I feel extra grimy when I drive with the windows down on the freeway, but with no working AC in the Jeep, it gets really hot driving.
Side note; if I do drive with the windows down (or the upper doors off), I usually wear earplugs too due to wind noise from the near brickish aerodynamics of…
Interesting. It’d be nice to see what the price point is for the trim package that has the front and rear lockers, with the 35s. Hopefully, it’ll be a bit cheaper than a similarly equipped JL or Gladiator.
This was the car I learned to drive in waaaayyyyy back in 1986 and it was awesome! You can fit 9 of your fattest high-school friends or lay the seats down and carry 4 6 foot plus surfboards with no issue. Fast no, but gets you to your destination in comfort, hell yeah!
To be honest, changing a radiator on a Jeep is somewhat of a rite of passage: from YJs, TJs and JKs many friends have had to change out their radiator (many people in the 4x4 club I belong too are all pros as swapping out a Jeep radiator). I’m personally in my second radiator on my JKUR.
In Star Trek Online, someone complained about my ship name and it was removed. Apparently the USS Asscracker isn’t family friendly
Great lead-in image! Using the words in that pic, I’ve now spent the past half hour at work, coming up with band names such as:
I do like the idea of having less underneath a rig that would get bashed by rocks but I’d imagine they would still keep the transfer case for 4WD-H and 4WD-Low and driveshafts if they also kept the solid axles.
Really liked the video! I’ll probably never get a Mustang but if I was, this was the video to point me in that direction.
Meh, I guess. I’d rather see an actual and working version on a real trail. Pictures (renditions) are nice and all but I want to see how it holds up at Johnson Valley or being used as a rock bouncer.
Great write up! I had an LJ and regret selling it ever since as it was a very capable rig right off the bat but add ARB lockers, 4:56 gears, chromoly axles and 33 inch tires, that rig went wherever I pointed to. It made the drive from the Bay Area to Moab twice;drive it there, wheeled it and then drove it home.
What’s odd is that the Jeep dealership is more aggressive than the Toyota (I’ll go have the oil changed on both vehicles when I get a really good coupon and feeling relatively lazy). The funny thing is that the sales people want to appraise the Jeep, even though it’s beat to crap and then offer me “top” dollar…
