Apparently not. I don’t have root access on my Moto X (2014) and it worked just fine. The developer may be using the new screen capture API? Not entirely sure. However, it definitely doesn’t require root.

Waze as an app is kind of annoying / clunky to me. If Google Maps would just add the ability to report incidents I would happily switch. It’s funny, they obviously see the utility in reporting incidents, since all of the incidents on Google Maps are reported via Waze, but they just haven’t added that functionality yet.

Why: Works well on my phone, iPad, and computer. The IT guys in the office let us install it and use it at work. I like the options to sync to my phone for when I’m traveling. It is $10/mo for premium but all things considered, there’s worse ways to spend $10/mo.
