What I meant to say with "Violence is not good or bad" is, that violence in itself is more than destruction - it is also recreation - because the forces of nature although often violent - never are onesided. It depends on your point of view - the experiences you make under certain circumstances giving it a deeper

No she doesn't, because violence is not good or bad - it is Life. And Videogames are one of the few forms of Media that let you explore it. Also: Shadow of the Colossus heavily relies on violence as a Stylistic device in order to teach players about endurance and responsibility - and you can't argue with Shadow of the

Like I said earlier. The publishers do see money from the first sale - and the fact that you can trade your game after sale if necessary contributes to the amount you are willing to pay for the New Copy - the risk you are willing to take. If you can't trade the game, you are less likely to spend the amount of money

Let me narrow it down to a simple example:

I don't know where you're from, but I have been to China, a country with 98% piracy rate. Over there you can't purchase new games even if you want to, they only sell pirate copies - Software has no value in that country. As long as there is no money in that market, people are not going to invest.

What you should realize is, that pirate copies cause deflation - they make every single copy of the game that has been distributed on the market less valuable.

You do realize, that the people who develop the game see the money from the first sale - which is the reason why games are sold at premium prices - which again is the reason why they are able to put out a polished full quality product on that shelf - trying to accumulate as much value as possible.

"...half of which I'll never play..."

Personally I think Games have more in common with Toys, or Amusement Parks.

I think the way they switched perspectives every few scenes was very disorienting and detaching - I prefer following one main protagonist's perspective for the most part of a story over FF IX's approach.

FF IX didn't live up to my expectations.

It looks alright for a device I'm not going to use in Public anyway. I really couldn't care less about how I look when sitting all hooked up at my desktop!

Dude is paying too much attention to Schreiers unsubstantial trolling.

Oculus Rift + Dinosaurs!

I see dedicated gaming devices as a place where innovation is rewarded.

Well, this must be the reason why NPD is being allowed to hold their own demonstrations here in Germany then, right?

No the game doesn't have a sexism problem - you do!

It all depends on the context in whicj you use these Symbols. They sure picked it for its esthetics, not because they hate koreans! But whatever. I'm happy to live in Europe where all parties can agree on being friends rather than blaming eachother for crimes commited in long past wars is the way to sustainable peace.

In my culture it is disrespectful to shake a woman's hand :P

He may laugh all he wants, but getting people to upgrade to next gen consoles will turn out to be a very, VERY hard task - especially with the PC becoming an ever more attractive proposition to Core-Gamers. There's no new display tech like HD, disrupting people's perceptions - making current gen look like SD-pizza all
