This map should be normalized by sq mile. It makes the rural red counties seem completely dominant.

The biggest problem with the map is that there is a lot of red areas with very few people. The blue areas have a lot more people and tend to be more urban. Go state by state and one of the best red states is Utah, which is heavily Mormon and fairly homogeneous, most of the other deeply red states are embarrassingly
