The headline is complete clickbait. Again - the consequence of blogging as a medium for journalism. In any case, LH does deserve some blame - but most of it still rests on his team. They have all the data in front of them to make absolutely sure that a pit would be right. He was relying on the feel of his tires, his

Completely agree. Hell, a spec miata in the rain at Sears Point/Infineon/Sonoma Raceway can be fun/scary. I’ve been there.

I don’t get where this “supercar owners don’t drive their cars” myth comes from. Some supercar owners are 1) busy with work 2) have multiple cars. So say they drive 100 miles a weekend. If they drive every weekend for a year, that’s 5200 miles. 3 years that’s 15,600 miles. Driving 100 miles a weekend is not enough

I’m all for the NSX as an investment theme... (I have 2 - one 1991 with 14k miles unmolested)... but It’s almost as if Jalopnik secretly has a stash of them somewhere. But that’s okay.. keep hyping up the car I love so very dearly. A car that Ayrton Senna helped develop. A car that still seems easy to drive but yet is

I love this car... and I love the WEC... but I don’t have the time to watch the races when they do show up. They need more short time races to really gather the crowds and viewership. I know that’s like heresy to endurance racing fans - but really these cars a sight to behold and a treat to hear. It should be made

Trading in 12C for the 675LT. The 12C is a great great car... and in truth, I think it looks better than the 650S.

As an owner of a 12C and a future owner of a 675LT, I’ve spent a lot of time worrying about the future of McLaren. Then I realized something: who the fuck cares. I love the cars and the way they drive and that’s all that matters to me.

I really want to go up there and buy a Honda now. I was looking at buying a Fit for commuting purposes but if this is how they're gonna do it.. i may be in.

Congratulations. You broke out an article written by a Scottish economist during the industrial revolution and a phrase that summarizes conspicuous consumption. You don’t see that everyday on Jalopnik.

So I guess you hate the Shelby Cobra as well.

This is a case where capitalism and worth to society do not coincide. Our job as a society is to try to make that happen.

The owner of the P1 is also an owner of a LaFerrari and FXXK. Apparently he asked, and they told him no.

Great question. I’m firmly in the Cayman camp. I love the 911. The GT3 is an incredible car. But owning 2 mid engine cars (NSX and 12C), I feel that midengine cars just have that incredible sports car feeling. It’s hard to replicate. The 911 gets more nods from the public, but the Cayman gets a lot of respect from

The more I see, the more I like this car. I think once you stop trying to compare it to other McLaren’s and compare it to the competition at this pricepoint - you realize how wonderful it is.

As an owner of a 12C - I can tell you that value for dollar for people who've earned their income (and not given to them by inheritance etc...) is important. That 60k is a big difference. I make sure I get the best price for all my cars and to not buy something either beyond my means or beyond what I need or want

I have an RS4 and this is why I track only spec Miatas now. Tracking your car heavy on the track can never be done at 10/10ths... unless you are Alonso or you are so rich, you don't care if you total your car or spend tons of money keeping it maintained through track days.

As a lifelong Vikings fan who used to have posters of Tommy Kramer and Keith Millard on my wall... the AP drama is slowly killing my last bit of purple heart. I've now become so cynical and bitter - I feel like Bill Simmons before he lost touch with reality and word counts and before the BoSox won in the 2000s.

I track a lot these days.. and there's still butterflies getting into a race prepped Spec Miata! I can't imagine getting strapped into that beast and getting a sudden lesson for 5 laps.

Nice writeup! Owning a 12C and daily driving it, I've discovered a ton of little things that go unnoticed in short road tests. For example - the single blade windshield wiper. The thing is an amazing piece of engineering. How the blade starts horizontal at the bottom and ends up perfectly vertical when it finishes

I don't understand your reply in its intent. What did you want me to say? I'm sorry I didn't granulate my reply enough for you. Did you want me to list the humidity, temperature, actual precipitation and time from onset of said downpour?
