The new-for-2013 (B7) Passat TDI had SCR & a urea tank, while the Jettas & Golfs did not. Dunno if they trick-fucked the Passat’s testing, but I suspect only the 2009-12 Passats are affected.

From experience, I say that one’s got one too many. I know GM coupled that ridiculous 7th gear ratio with the cylinder deactivation for CAFE purposes only, but it’s absolutely useless below 90 mph.
