The fat Pikachu looks way cooler.

I grew up during the golden age of JRPGs, and I'm certain those JRPGs I played are the reason I love video games so much today. I'll be the first to admit that the genre has dipped in recent years, but it is still by far my favourite. I'm in no doubt that the big companies, even Square Enix, still have the

"I spent my Wednesday night sitting in Kotaku's office, gulping down coffee and furiously typing as I watched Sony announce their new PlayStation, a revolutionary device that will let you play games where you shoot people with guns."

I think I used summons and the overdrive once, maybe twice, each. I thought they weren't as good as Summons and/or limit breaks, desperation moves etc. from past games. I thought the combat system in Final Fantasy XII was great overall though, and I loved the freedom. I spent hours just exploring and completing

Just thought I'd mention, Ghibli had no involvement in the development of the game. All they did was the art, Level-5 did everything else, including the story.

I love classic, old school Japanese RPGs. I've always like grinding, despite how derived it is in modern gaming. I'm a strong believer in the phrase "The harder you work the greater your rewards", and JRPGs are the epitome of this phrase. Sure, they can be taxing at times (no more so than Dragon Quest, which

I don't see why people criticize Enix for Square's drop in quality. When the two companies merged Enix were the one who kept it afloat. Square were in huge debt, and without Enix they probably would have gone bust. And since the merger most of the best games the company has released, in my opinion anyway (each to

I gave up all hope on the game long ago.

It was a mixture of both, a lot of Wii games which didn't use a motion control gimmick, or which didn't come bundled with the console, sold massive amounts also. I think, off the top of my head, that the 7 highest selling games this gen are Wii games, yet not all of them are Wii Sport's style games. And Wii Sports

I'm not outright stating whether one game is good or bad. But if you look at it far more people dislike Final Fantasy XIII than probably any other numerical non-online game in the series. And the criticisms of Final Fantasy XIII were completely avoidable. There is a reason for this outside of my own opinion. I'm not

I'll agree with that one.

I'm more concerned about the fact that they didn't reveal whether or not the console will in fact block used games. It's as if they wanted to reveal a huge amount of games to take our mind off the subject and to hopefully forget about it. I'm not buying that. Oh look, the PS4 will have games, and will be supported by

It's true that X isn't as linear as XIII, and it's world probably is better to explore. But I still didn't feel that the game was all that good. Saying it better than XIII in this way or that way isn't really a defense of the title, as XIII is horrid.

"X a masterpiece? You must have been to some den of FFX fans to get that impression."

Well, I felt the story was uninspiring and boring, the linearity was off putting and annoying and I hated the sphere grid. So, those are my reasons not to like it :P

Fair enough, we don't all have the same opinions. I'm just a little annoyed, because I want a Vita. Everything about it seems great, except no game other than Uncharted seems to interest me. I won't buy an expensive piece of hardware for only 1 game. I really hopes it gets more great games, because then I'd bite

Not every aspect of Final Fantasy X was dreadful. Of all the classic, ATB Final Fantasy games it probably had the best battle system, but outside that I felt the story was uninspiring, the linearity was off putting and the sphere grid angers me - I hate it.

I really enjoyed XII. It lacked that characteristic charm of past games, and when I first played it I didn't like it really. But when I played it for a second time I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was far from perfect, but I'd rather Square Enix made Final Fantasy XV more like XII than X or XIII.

I hated the sphere grid, it is one of the main reasons why I dislike Final Fantasy X. I felt the licence board in Final Fantasy XII offered a far greater level of customization. Each to their own though.

Type-0 has only been released in one region, comparing it is sales to a game that was released 12 years ago, in all major regions, is stupid really.
