Oh.
Oh.
Yeah, you hit the safe on the head.
Having watched the movie again just now and eventually stumbled upon this, I can attest to being perplexed as to why she (not even knowing the actress!) was working as a bartender. It was a weird casting.
Fuck outta here, Dowd. Pan’s Labyrinth was at least an A-.
Having just finished watching In The Line Of Fire, I wonder if that was where they got the (admittedly excellently executed) “aim low” bit from.
I keep checking her page on the Wikia after each episode, wondering what they know that I don’t.
I’d say this one worked better as a standalone than it would have as half an episode, though.
So, I’ve enjoyed this season so far. The writing has not been great, but you know what, I like the universe, I’m entertained and compelled to keep watching, so I can’t really complain.
Season 3 is worth the slog.
So, are we to believe that Syd’s parents accidentally named her Syd Barrett?
Counterpoint: Nah.
Normally, I’d be laughing at how ridiculous this all is (and I still definitely am), but there’s actually some interesting fodder here for a debate about who an intellectual property belongs to, how new authors interpret and adapt, etc.

Where I think I’ve seen more success is a sort of recreation of the tone of nostalgic works. For instance, when…
Seriously, this season was fucking amazing and completely turned me around on the show from “This is pretty all right” to “I actively look forward to Wednesdays.” Thank you for bringing reviews back.
I’m just wondering how Ravenous Sophovore didn’t make the list.
Well, that’s disappointing, if not even remotely surprising. Glad to hear there were at least some worthwhile performances and good direction, even if the script was a total clusterfuck.
This season was cool as hell. I don’t know where they go from here — I mean, I know where Whiterose is going, more or less, but I don’t know where Elliot and co. will go next season, but I’m endlessly intrigued.
