Not to say that the 1st Golf was a bad car but the 3rd and 4th gen were pretty dodgy with respect to build quality. Nowadays the VW Golf has earned a solid reputation for being a token of German perfectionism and, in certain trim levels, exciting drive. Might be a bit dull to look at, though.

As a Cayenne driver, I think the Macan looks great proportionally. On the Cayenne things can get weird at certain angles.

The 1UZ from Lexus deserves more credit …. great engine and they are pretty damn reliable too.
