I totally understand dreaming about the Rescue Rangers. I'm right there with you, buddy.
#11: The Family of Blood.
You know, of all the films that Battlefield Earth went up against, Batman and Robin were the closest match for me. I still have a hard time deciding which of those two are worse.
So it has come to this.
If this research were true then sheep wouldn't be as sexy as they are. ;)
I think I've finally figured Cyriaque out. He's the illegitimate child of Joseph Campbell and Dennis Miller.
I think it's time for another bracket tournament. Let's vote for the worst SF/F TV shows of all time!
Perdido Street Station is entertaining up until the climax, about 3-4ths in. Everything after that is dreck that ruins the entire previous adventure, IMHO.
Okay. (cracks knuckles) Here's where I make my not-so-passioned plea, to convince everyone that Pluto Nash is worse than Battlefield Earth.
I read The Magicians. It had a good plot, some stunning imagination and some great literary wordplay. But it was undercut by how much I despised the main character. I wouldn't say that it was dismissive of the genre, but it certainly tried to subvert the standard tropes, to the point where the 'hero' begins as a…
Kickstarter is a way to get money. I don't need money — I have a great desk job as a rocket scientist. I can fund my own publication...possibly even buy my own small publishing company if I really wanted to.
Amino acids are fairly common chemicals in some nebulae and clouds of interstellar dust. If a comet formed in these regions (and we expect they did) it would carry amino acids inside it.
For an aspiring author, it's actually kind of depressing. I could self-publish tomorrow, and since I have 2,000 readers on my webcomic I could leverage that to at least moderate success with any book I publish. But I want the validation of being published by traditional media. But traditional media is so hidebound…
Well, if you know the X-men from the 80s then you may be interested to know that the plotline for AvX apparently involves the Phoenix Force. It's coming to Earth. It wants Cyclops' daughter, and for that reason the Avengers want her dead.
I know someone else who might have a retort as well.
Yeah, I'm voting Highlander II because it was so bad it ruined the previous film. TLAB didn't have a previous film to ruin, and its horribleness didn't affect the animated source.
Commenters on Youtube noticed that also. The consensus seems to be that it's part of the pack language to bare your teeth when licked. If she refused they might get hostile.
I called it on day one — Highlander II vs. Pluto Nash.
Phantom Menace had a couple good scenes. Superman IV had none. Phantom Menace had some characters who were memorable and potentially redeemable. Superman IV? The villain had solar powers, and I remember almost nothing else about him. They're both bad films but it isn't a close matchup.
