You know, there are times I look at this whole situation and think, “Rowling already got paid. I’m not sure how much any of this really has a material impact, especially compared to stuff like legislation that’s passing. Is this game really worth all the energy people are putting into fighting it?”

Just looking at this comment section and the more general online reaction, it’s weird (by which I mean, extremely predictable) how quickly and with such tenacity certain supposedly “I don’t have anything against” types are to chastise entire identities as being at fault for some people’s bad behavior.

Reminder: telling someone you’re disappointed in them for playing Hogwarts Legacy is not bullying. Telling someone you’re going to unsub/unfollow them for playing it is not bullying. Asking someone not to play a game because the franchise’s creator is loudly, proudly transphobic is not bullying.

Not playing a video game is *literally* the least you can do. As someone else here put it, playing the wizard game doesn’t make you a transphobe, but you sure as hell can’t call yourself an ally.
