Hoo boy ... try being a lesbian at a university in a (Midwestern) rural town and then talk to me about skewed dating pools. After my first girlfriend broke up with me during my sophomore year, I was convinced I wouldn't be able to date anyone again until well after college. (That turned out to be false, though.)

I know of a girl named Talor (pronounced like Taylor). She's from of a small town and she used to date this asshole of a former friend of mine. Now she's in our college's production of the Vagina Monologues, and I couldn't be more proud.

@curiousgeorgiana: Oh, great. I was just thinking ... y'know what else changes colors sometimes? Nipples!

@FurrierAndIves: I totally just watched that program. Watching those birds was oddly soothing.

@spiraloflife: I love lavender too. I'm definitely checking out the yoga class at my school, but I've found that just looking at nice things is calming. Earlier, I watched a PBS program on hummingbirds and it was oddly soothing. I guess I'm going to be frequenting Cute Overload for a while.

@LaComtesse: Oh, yes. By non-pharmaceutical, I meant no drugs at all. I'm looking for ideas on activities that could keep me occupied and improve my mood at the same time.

Does anyone know anything or have experience with depression and non-pharmaceutical remedies for it? I was diagnosed with depression a few days ago and I was put on an anti-depressant, but I figured additional measures couldn't hurt. Yoga is being offered at my school's rec center and meditation seems like it could

@Awestruck: A friend of a friend had it within the past year or so. I don't know too much about the circumstances, but apparently she is doing well now and will be returning to college after taking a semester off.

@raineoffire: This. I should note that while my 75-year-old father can play Wii (apparently), my 75-year-old landlord still hand-writes his leases and goes to the local grocery store to have customer service copy them for him because he doesn't know how to use a copying machine.

For what it's worth, my 75-year-old father has played Wii Bowling with my niece and nephew, who are both younger than 10. He does not, however, own a cell phone or a computer.

@boxspelunker: I liked the use of a Wal-mart bag as a costume for Bathtub Gaga. Recycling, FTW!

@acidalys: Titanic. When I lived on campus and got free cable, I swear it was on every Sunday afternoon, which made it the perfect accompaniment for last minute homework.

@heavymetalkarma: No, unless your boyfriend is secretly a lesbian environmentalist from the Midwest. I swear I do eat vegetables, especially beans of every color, it's just that eggs are cheap and easy to fix.

@Seize: I hear you. I'm dying to get back to school because I think a change of scenery would do me good. I hate being at home for these long breaks because unlike school or during the summer when I'd be working, there's no routine or schedule to follow. As luck would have it, I'm a senior in college and so this is my

@heavymetalkarma: Eggs! I justify my over-consumption of them with the fact I'm vegetarian and need the protein.

@TheFormerJuneBronson: As I mentioned on here last night, I was diagnosed with depression this week. I had a serious episode on Monday, and today was the first day I felt like a functional human being. This shit fucking blows. I'm a college student, and classes start next week but I can't go back to school right away

That lady looks cold. Maybe they should have provided her with a shirt.

@cowboydan: For a high school social studies project, I made a knight paper doll in order to demonstrate what a knight typically wore to battle, including chain mail that I fashioned out of aluminum foil. I still have it; it is still badass to me. This project was in like 2003 or 2004, by the way.

@morninggloria: Yeah, but if they got together the universe might explode, so let's not risk it.

@rodmanstreet: I think part of the issue is that once you find a scent that you like, you tend to stick with it. I don't mind Bath and Body Works, but it takes me FOREVER to go through one tube of lotion or body spray so I don't particularly feel the need to shop there frequently.
