Microtransactions.
Microtransactions.
Shoot, I didn’t know you started another one since the Klepocalypse. May need to make a youtube account and do that subscribe thing I’ve been forcefully hearing so much about around the webs.
Looking forward to reading Yannick’s gameplay breakdowns and not bothering to play it myself.
I’m sorry you felt the need to dig into this so much, when most of us consider awards irrelevant regardless of any questionably fabricated controversy. Will just catch the full 2 minutes of WORLD PREMIEREs on youtube tomorrow.
I got chills. Maybe because it’s 42 degrees out, but the art is also great.
You didn’t cheat and already finish it on your own time, did you? *squints*
If only alexrecker.com had a cost per visit ad revenue model before this article...
I believe this is NISA’s first foray onto Steam actually, since Idea Factory self-published Neptunia. Either way, they’ve no doubt seen how successful Japanese RPGs have been on the platform recently. I think Disgaea is going to make a killing on PC.
Great article. Must say I’ll have to take Klepek’s advice on the Snowball, since I’ve been watching mario maker mornings and it sounds great.
It’s absolutely worth the added cost to grab a 120gb ssd for $40 in my opinion. It’ll basically just be for windows, but with enough room to install the occasional game with egregious loading times (bethesda).
Like you said, I’ve always enjoyed the little “thank you for playing our game” notes which typically appear during the credits. So it’s a real shame when a game is shuttered because of a disastrous release like this one for the PC. A whole lot of people put everything they had into making the game great, and now it’s…

This post made me realize that I haven’t played a Blizzard game since warcraft 3. I’ve had such blinders since steam became a platform. Not that I love steam and hate everything else, games just don’t hit my radar if they’re not on the steam storefront. Same goes for Origin exclusives. Need to remind myself…
I love the idea of the HHPK, I just can’t see how it’s practical. I spend most of my days in Excel (sympathies welcomed), where the arrow keys and end/pg functions are used constantly. I can’t imagine replacing the pg functions with a pinkie 2-stroke combination, and eliminating the arrows altogether. Word processing…

I can’t wait to see the associated jimquisition.
I love the jar of flies. I’m a bit rubbish at the game, so I adore having what are essentially respawning homing projectiles.
I’d call those fans “achievers” and although they’re always the most vocal, I’d bet the majority of players of this game are “explorers.” Those who just love to see what the game has to offer and be surprised when they discover new things naturally.
You don’t want it. It’ll be a mobile microtransactions hell, or a pachinko machine.
I have no sympathy for anyone who buys Early Access and gets burned. It’s like having a kid and then crying foul when it doesn’t turn out to be worth what you put into it. You knew it was a gamble.
