I'm all for giving up on "Western" games. When you make games for a specific audience, mediocrity is what you're shooting for. When you focus on making games that are great, they'll find the audience on their own.

@Paradox me: This. Unless your child is allowed to be up at 3am to watch MTV, I don't know how he would have been subjected to a music video (youtube?). It's for the better, as most new music videos are just light porn with horrible soundtracks. Just like MTV's programming...

@kimarimonku: If you're in the States, check your local Gamestop for a free demo disc. Several in my area still have the cases full of discs on the counter, so it's worth a shot.

@laser beams: I started from scratch and just worked my way up from the feet. It only took about an hour, but I didn't change much for the animations, other than moving the feet for walking (kept them 2d sideways for fun) and the hoorah! animation.
