@Michael Dukakis: *slow clap*
@Michael Dukakis: *slow clap*
@Michael Dukakis: why?
Chiptune has never been so glorious. The minigame and 3 horsemen falling from the ceiling were brilliant. It made you laugh too, don't lie.
I personally like the 'HC' penalty. If you die, your character is gone forever. This makes the game fun. With infinite lives, everything you do is meaningless. You can be reckless, barely pay attention, and trial and error your way through a game. That isn't fun (for me at least). In the exact same game, if I'm…
@kelbear: After staring wide-eyed at that first screen of the Geoscape, it's clear that they're at least passionate about providing a solid X-Com experience. With a team of people dedicated and not hampered by the expectation of high production values, I definitely think it's possible. I have no actual experience in…
@Archaotic: I don't disagree with you completely. I just wanted to remind you: Atlus. There are diamonds in the rough.
@Witzbold: RTTPTBS = REAL TIME THIRD PERSON TURN BASED STRATEGY
@Shinta: On dear gracious, poor guy. I never used it on a Blue Phantom since it can't kill them, and is tricky to pull off. Stealing a level worth of souls is also much meaner than using the Scraping Spear. Ugh, I can't imagine. You'll never die from it, so somebody could keep sucking souls indefinitely.
I hope Namco Bandai puts together a solid Deluxe edition for the Europeans like Atlus did for us in the States.
I appreciate the article. However, most of the examples given are simply graphical/perspective changes. The core gameplay elements and design remain intact. This is not a good argument for the new XCOM, which is changing genres completely. It's too early to judge, yes. It may still be a tactical turn-based…
Maybe we're also coming full circle. While a large studio and production budget may be necessary for the size and scale of AAA releases, we are also seeing a larger variety of platforms.
We need a Highlights Photoshop contest.
They'll all just switch to one of the other 21%. If it were China, the developers would just copy the game, give it a new name, and bypass the registration restrictions.
#5 really made my day. "BARF!"
@Pitchswitch: The real value of Gamefly comes out during it's end of year sales when it sells it's overstock of semi-new releases for under 15 bucks. At a quality 10 times higher than used gamestop games, no less (although that isn't a hard mark to hit).
@TVs_Frank: I despise unions, but the video game industry does seem to be saturated with a disproportionate amount of questionable business practices.
I have to hand it to Infinity Ward and Activision. This struggle is far more entertaining than any Call of Duty game I've ever played.
Can I sue you for making me google "Boom Boom Pow," which resulted in my day being ruined?
I don't think the census should ever be quoted for an article like this. The census is a lot of fun in that we get to see what other readers are up to. However, the questions were so vague that they don't really have any statistical value. The piracy questions alone could have been subdivided into hundreds of more…
