Right? I mean, don't get me wrong, SR2 had its share of goofiness, but there were plenty of tense, epic moments in the story to the point where there was a healthy sense of balance. Not to mention the gangs were MUCH, MUCH more interesting, each of which had their own fleshed out backstories, which was awesome.
