I didn't know that "Dakota" was a language!

The autonomous car should attempt to optimize the chances of survival for its occupants, under the assumption that other agents (pedestrians, motorists, other autonomous cars) will do the same. If it drove itself off of a cliff to save others, it just killed someone because of what might have happened. Traded a sure

Autonomous cars will be better able to better account for the poor driving of others than a human would. We simply can't compete with a complex sensor suite. I don't really see an issue with them sharing the road rather, I figure it's just a question of how long till we ban manually operated cars.

Well, you can only blame yourself, expecting journalism here.

Unless the car perfectly hits the tires, it's gonna go under the truck and it ain't gonna be pretty. Even if it did hit the tires I don't think the result would be as tame as you're insinuating.

The goal of toyota is to make money. So I would find it highly surprising if there is any other reason for which they moved.

I love how despite the fact that this was created by some guy who was just watching at the side of the road, it was in dash-cam form.

Eh, this is the sort of thing that strikes me as something that would trigger too many false alarms to be worth it. And I can already personalize my lock screen, and I have a roadID.

If you look at the performances of the US skaters in the olympics versus other events this year, there was absolutely something different about the Olympics.

We made it over ten minutes, I'm impressed.

well, 3 cm is like 7% of your space in economy, so it's not as trivial as you might think. But I guess we won't know till we try it. Have a prototype ready by the end of the week and then we can discuss! :-P

I meant seating room, as I understand it your armrest would make the distance between your two armrests slightly smaller. I may be misunderstanding however.

Yeah.. it depends. I definitely think that the premium you pay for that over a miata is mostly diminishing returns.

I have my winter tires mounted on steelies. I've been tempted by the idea of plati-dipping them red (I have an "asphalt" (gray) FR-S. Part of my loves it, part of me thinks it's a terrible idea.

We have barely enough room as it is! That two centimeters really would be a significant loss.

Yeah, give me back my damn abacus!

That doesn't apply to useful degrees.

The season is young!

I hope they bought it off of the fisherman, finder's keepers!

That's true. Either way, with traveling that far he probably flew a decent chunk of that!
