Because when NBC (or the BBC, or whoever) airs something, they've purchased the exclusive right to broadcast that content in that region. It sucks, but I think it makes sense. Of course, due to the Internet and our increasingly global world, the system is a bit archaic.

Also, for other sports, NBC repeatedly spoiled the results of events they were yet to air. Whether it be by having a ticker during the event itself, a comment by someone immediately before an event, or the time one of the color commentator mentioned a fall seconds before it actually happened, they did it numerous

Is there anything more American than that?

I've always thought that minivans have SUVs whuped in terms of utility. And now with most SUVs already having a mom-car image, I can't see a reason to not get one instead of an SUV. That is, if I needed a vehicle with more than two usable seats (shudder).

Is this actually definitively why he did that? I had my suspicions, but that's brilliant!

As my weekend would attest, you can break your bones downhill skiing just fine.

I definitely wouldn't rank it number one, but I did enjoy the parts that contained the car itself tremendously.

People just want something to be outraged about.

This!! I was shocked when I saw how much they retailed for, and how many I see. When someone gets a mediocre vehicle and doesn't spend "much" money on it, fine, but when I realized what you could buy for the price of an escalade I almost retched.

I don't think that a system like this would require location tracking, in which case I don't really see where the privacy concerns come in.

A light dusting of snow is more than enough to cause massive problems in Atlanta. This storm was very clearly forecasted to be problematic, and very clear warnings were given well ahead of it.

I don't know the statistics on this, but in general I think the highway is much safer in bad weather. You're more likely to get stuck, but much less likely to have a vehicle slide over that line on the pavement and hit you head on.

A modern day loaves and fish!

Just make sure your tailpipe stays clear or it might be a very long nap.

I think that licensing and insuring are two totally different things, the first of which I find slightly objectionable, while the latter I find highly objectionable.

If we require cyclists to be insured, why not pedestrians? Their actions can certainly cause harm to others, and they use the roads in some limited capacity. In actuality motorists should be held to a much higher standard than others, because of how inherently dangerous driving is. In the US last year, motor vehicle

Sorry!

If he wasn't behind you on your bike, he'd be behind you in your car! But yeah, I always try to be exceptionally courteous, within the bounds of safety.
