Well, nevermind misogynistic, these games have always portrayed highly misanthropic behavior.

So because something won't stop all deaths we shouldn't do anything about it? You're becoming inane, I'm out!
That's completely incomparable. Someone else's obesity can't kill me. In addition, obesity doesn't take you by surprise, and in most cases people have the ability to make decisions that prevent it from affecting them. That's not the case with car crashes.
Training and discipline could certainly dramatically reduce the number of automotive deaths, but when a car comes hurtling into your lane and kill your entire family it doesn't matter how good you are.
Except for the fact that you need to compare it to the number of deaths per year, not the population. Big difference.
Well, 95% autonomous is like 95% fat free... that means it isn't autonomous. I won't bother getting an autonomous car if I have to pay any attention to it, it defeats the purpose.
Can you imagine if people were say, cooking their food with a device that killed 30,000 people in the US a year, including themselves and completely innocent people, but there was an alternative that killed almost no one a year, would we ever let them use that death machine?
No way. If my car is driving autonomously, I'm not taking any responsibility for its actions. I think many people hear about autonomous cars and picture someone sitting behind the wheel, ready to grab it at any point... that's not what it will be like. That is just how they have to be driven now, as they're still in…
Except... traffic will be a thing of the past.
Except... There aren't.
We're talking about fully autonomous cars, ones in which you could sleep, or do anything else. I can't wait for those. And I wouldn't get an autonomous car that required me to pay attention, because I would inevitably stop paying attention. That's why for me my cars will likely not have "advanced lane guidance" or…
I think it's safe to say that people like you and me — people who enjoy driving — are probably dreading having control of the car taken away from us. But I am not sure the mainstream car-buying public will miss it all that much.
I figure it will of course have to be a very gradual thing. Autonomous cars will first have to play nice and demonstrate that they are capable of driving safely and obeying all the rules of the road, including dealing with all of the signs and pedestrians. Then, as they are adopted more, we might have some autonomous…
If we had autonomous only lanes, or roads, the cars could absolutely haul. Traffic lights would be a thing of the past, with cars just bombing through intersections, knowing that there isn't another vehicle coming. We literally could see the end of traffic in a few decades.
Neutral: Autonomous Cars? Ultimately, is it a bad thing that people who don't want to drive will have the opportunity to Facebook while they drive without hurting anyone? Be honest, if you were stuck in traffic wouldn't you rather let your car handle it?
I am similar, lots of the music I listen to is crafted as an album... Pink Floyd, muse, silversun pickups, death cab, etc., but for the music a lot of people listen to it's just not the case. Plenty of albums released today might as well be a collection of singles.
Except... such people are a small minority. If a manufacturer is deciding to eschew manuals, they're already deciding that these people aren't worth going after.
The worst thing is it doesn't even tell you until the gear is fully engaged. I partially learned to drive stick in a legacy, and it would have been nice to see the gear right up there where I am looking. So not only is the display useless once you have the hang of it, it can't help you learn.
Congratulations! You figured it out!
