If it's in your pocket how would they see it?

Except people texting while driving don't just kill themselves.

Hahah yes. I've seen that before. The white flag is awesome.

Like you said, the reason people give is because it will cause wear, not because your hands should be on the wheel (although they should). I have no idea how much damage it does. I really wouldn't worry about it, although I just don't have that habit of resting my hand there.

That standard seems very cool, I hope it is adopted widely. I love microcontroller projects like this. They're what brought to life the (minimal) coding knowledge I had, and I've been able to do some pretty nifty things for work and school with an arduino.

1+1! Hah!

No mention of the driver?! That's going to be the biggest automotive feature that will go extinct, autonomous cars are well on their way. And about a dozen people mentioned it. I know because I think I was the 12th to do so. :-P

Steering wheels, pedals, mirrors, most driver inputs.

The thing is, I don't drive a racecar. Getting a milisecond, or even a second faster isn't of interest to me. I genuinely enjoy driving a car with a manual transmission, that's why I want one.

I didn't think of that, but that one other cause doesn't sound like lots of deaths. And suicides aren't accidents. Besides, these hybrids don't do the trick!

This article title had me worried, but the list was great. But one thing - number one non crash related vehicle death? How many non crash vehicle deaths are there?!

It's for the lulz, not the grammar.

Theory: jalops will typically have very low or very high years per car. Some are constantly shuffling them around, and some have that car that despite all its quirks and pains is perfect. Very few with average ownership durations.

.. you basically did think of that.. can't tell if you're trolling!

I agree. I can see tons of applications. Small catering, pizza delivery, basically any small delivery service.

I've been worried about these automated plate readers for years. People will argue that you don't have a reasonable expectation of privacy on the roads, which is true, but I resent the idea of the government effectively tracking my every move. Previously the police could tail you if they wanted to track your

Except for the fact that the cooper s coupe starts at 25k.

We all have screw ups. Since asiana CRASHED A FUCKING PLANE they should probably understand that.

Whaaa! I already find it difficult to imagine driving a million dollar car, but million dollar wheels? Imagine hitting a curb!

I strongly disagree with your last point. The real thing you need to do is understand the cost of the loan before you sign. I financed a decent chunk of my new car at about 3% over three years, the total cost is just over a grand. Because I financed it I was able to get the car I really really wanted, and have more
