They took a page from The Witcher 3 and turned them into huge, open-world maps full of question marks to explore. They’re fun, but I do kind of wish they’d return to smaller, more intimate character-driven stories like the first couple of games. The mechanics of the last two games are impressive, as is the scale, but

No one really changes or has any meaningful catharses.

I’m with you there. Even as someone who loves DBZA, I don’t think you could say that it’s better than the source material, especially when so much of what works about DBZA is dependent on it being an abridged version of an anime.  I personally don’t feel comfortable saying that it’s better than the original series.

No offense to TFA, but that’s why I don’t care for the IS DBZA BETTER THAN DBZ debates? Because DBZA, for as well written as it is, is still entirely dependent on the source material for most of its content.  It’s a remix, albeit one that feels like an anime for a modern, internet age, but still...

Alright, put simply, they don’t want to jump the shark. Does anyone else find it odd that they compare their projects to actual franchises when they’re just overlaying referential parody dialogue over existing footage without changing the actual plot of the original material, and they’re at constant risk of receiving

“Dragon Ball Z Abridged as always the superior Dragon Ball experience.”

It’s not Westworld here people.  It’s not *that* complicated.

“oh no no no no no no”

Eh, I found the show more enjoyable than the games. I like Cavill as Geralt more than game Geralt. Game Geralt is probably one of the dullest characters in gaming history.

I fear the writer got the wrong impression of the original stories because of the more active nature of the game. The Short stories most of these episodes are based on follow a lot of the points he made. The Longer Ciri saga doesn’t take off until later and we barely scratch the surface of the impact of the Nilfguard

Blame the source material. You know, from 1993. It’s all about the politics in there too.

So basically, it’s like the books. The witcher’s world is one giant social lens, at least to me. It’s what defines the atmosphere! This shouldn’t be news to anyone familiar with the novels. Also, I am super happy to learn that there is no explainathon exposition bits to fast track newcomers into the lore. Much more

There’s a tab right up top for Jezebel if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s a shame they feel they need to incorporate it into everything now.

And it would be great if we got actual pop culture content, focused on pop culture, instead of trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Its isn’t just conservatisim that’s gone reactionary and zenophobic these days. We’re now getting it from the left too. We went from the concept of ‘One world community’ to cries of ‘Cultural appropriation!’ and the radicals don’t even realize that those two concepts are opposites.

We have a deranged orange cheeto president idolizing and making friends with the world’s despots and dictators, while trying to cut social security. We have climate change descending on the planet like a biblical locust horde, and global corporations dictating things like a sci-fi dystopia.

She’s absolutely right. Let actors act. They’re acting. They’re not the person they’re portraying. That’s literally their job.

I generally can’t stand Guy Ritchie movies but the Sherlock Holmes films are great.

Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, uh... your opinion, man.
