I never understood all the cult about Mass Effect 2. It’s the weakest of the trilogy for me by far. It is “Secondary quests, the game”. The main story barely ever moves forward. The very last mission of the game was the moment I said to myself “YES! Things are FINALLY going to get interesting! ... And it’s over. What?”
…
All this.
You are conflating two distinctly different issues, Alex. And you seem to realize this very clearly, but it doesn’t seem to stop you from writing an article of ill consideration.
at least you ghouls are consistent, I thought for sure Patty Jenkins would get special treatment compared to Christopher Nolan and yet, here you are, a computer ghoul hiding behind your laptop and avatar, casting judgement on Jenkins and the like for having the audacity to wish their real work, nee, their art, and the…
This “article” is supposed to be about the Tenet prologue, but the first line has nothing to do with the prologue....it’s just another hyperlink to io9's latest hitpiece on Nolan from earlier in the week.
I don’t doubt that they make soundbars that are nice for soundbars, but movie theaters these days have a minimum of seven spatially distributed speakers, subwoofers with 18" drivers, and 3000 W or more driving it all. Not really sure how you can approximate that with a soundbar.
But it’s also worth noting that Nolan stood to rake in 20% of Tenet’s initial dollar gross from its theatrical release, and given the buzz around the film, that penny would have been particularly pretty.
i think it had more to do with the pandemic and not being able to be open, my guy.
I know I’m probably in the minority that feels this way, but I think it’s incredibly insulting to the cast and crew to change the speed of a show to make it faster than what they intended.
No it’s a great RPG game. It’s amazing to explore Egypt but when people say it’s not an AC game it’s because it’s an RPG.
I think the opposite of this is true.
I find it ironic that people that are supposed to like video games insist on dumping on AC Unity, which is easily the apex of the series, the last moment before it became an inferior witcher knockoff with dull side quests, a giant empty expanse, and enemies that took at least 500 smacks with a dull weapon to kill.
Not only would Christopher Nolan absolutely have a theatrical release in his contract, there’s a huge difference between dropping $30m on headline content for a streaming service and throwing a $225m film in there, losing millions in potential profits (subscribers would not make up the difference).
it’s not an AC game.
Speaking as a huge fan of RPGs: RPG elements were the last thing I wanted from Assassin’s Creed. My hidden blade should assassinate people, not do-some-damage-determinant-on-our-relative-XP-levels,
To put it another different way, you can say Unity is the worst AC game (which I don’t agree with) because Origins isn’t really an AC game.
I think origins was probably the worst AC game. It ditched all the gameplay mechanics that made AC unique in order to transform the series into a shallow, generic action rpg. At least odyssey was a GOOD generic action rpg.
Not the best AC
Origins and Odyssey are massive downgrades from syndicate, which is a downgrade of Unity. Unity had a parkour and social stealth system that absolutely SHITS on the latest games.
