Actually, DOMA, DADT, and strong opposition to gay marriage are no stranger to the Democratic Party as recently as 08. 12 states, one in the South, is not good enough to call it a day.

CA has the second worst schools in the nation, and the worst racial economic disparity. But then again, I guess LA is pretty far South.

Let's be honest, we all hate on the South so we don't feel bad that we Northerners have totally failed to combat institutional racism or implement a viable social net

But...but...the Senate is the one controlled by the Democrats. Nationally speaking, about the same raw number of people are registered in each party.

Actually, I have to disagree. The whole idea of contracts based on consideration are the giving up of something you have a legal right to do. Before I signed my lease, I had a legal right to give my landlord money on the 15th of the month or not. There was no legal consequence of either choice. She had the right

Actually all you can contract away is your legal rights. Contracts are the enforceable trading of legal rights (i.e. I contract away my right to NOT pay my landlord $1k a month in exchange for him contracting away his right to use Unit 7b of herbuilding as she sees fit). But thats lawyer nerd stuff.

The music in the background is an homage to the Marine Corp Birthday message, a tradition that dates back to the 1920's. Its really the only interaction that most Marines have with either of the two people in the video, or their predecessors. I think the music plays to kind of tap into that sense of tradition and

2) A few years ago into a relationship, I spent weeks making a scrapbook that told a fairy tale story of how we met, since the real story was less romantic. After all that work and worry, the big Anniversary came and I nervously and sheepishly gave my unique gift ... only to receive the same thing in return

I always follow the maxim that if Adolf Eichman and Jefferey Dahmer got the privilege of Due Process, everyone does.

Well, she is the victim of an alleged assault. Let's not let piety get in the way of one of the few universally agreed on precepts of a modern justice system, the presumption of guilt. He is not guilty of rape until a court says so, and she is not guilty of filing a false police report until a court says so.

However,

Go halfsies on that pizza, and you have yourself a deal.

Not trying to be smart, but whats the difference between what you describe here as trolling, and someone actually having a dissenting opinion and wanting to discuss it?

Am I missing something? The police say that there has been no charges filed. They never say that she hasn't accused him. Unless I am missing something...

The police say that no charges has been filed, not that she hasn't accused him.

An accusation could have been made without charges being filed, either because the accusation is not credible or because the investigation is still ongoing (filing charges requires minimal level of evidence; however, prosecutors like to have their ducks in a row before filing charges and letting all hell break lose).

Im not sure how much more explicit Ms. Bell could be that she is only speaking about her own experience, and that experiences may vary. She very clearly says that she feels this way in her day to day, and that being a woman has not been an obstacle to her, but that others may have had a bad experience.

I agree that

Preach.

Most deaths from trauma occur from either arterial bleeding or an obstructed airway. By putting a knee down on the spurting blood, or making an ad hoc tourniquet, bleeding can be slowed from a squirt to a dribble. As for opening an airway, many unconscious people choke on their tongue or have pinched airways, By

Without more information, it's hard to tell. However, the use of direct pressure and a knowledge of the head-lift, chin-tilt method can prevent death in something like 85% of potentially fatal trauma incidents.

I think the problem, with swearing is that it leads to laziness in arguments and a total dismissal of the other's POV (and if the opposing POV has no support, why write the article).

Apparently, there is no way to private message on Kinja (or I don't know how to use it).
