Would you settle for the image of him and a woman in her early 30s smoking cigars, drinking rum, and playing all night? We laugh, but we're dead serious during the game. Our friendship is on hold during chess. I'll see if I can cajole him into going to Washington Square Park and play with some of the guys out there.

He's not. He's very smart, engaging, funny, down to earth, and cool. He has this incredible intellectual curiosity wants to learn everything. He's also a damn good chess player.

Jack White is notorious for his temper and for unprovoked violent behavior. I can totally see him demanding that she remove her children from school because she wanted attend the wedding of a guy in another band.

Nothing to do with him.

Because I fear the wrath of some of our judgmental fellow readers, I'm just gonna drop it. I thought about it and I don't want to hear it from them. If there were a way to send PMs, I would tell you. I'm sorry for backing out. May I offer you an internet cupcake?

If I confess something do you promise not to judge?

I don't know how this got cut off, but I was referring to the latter. That's what I meant: Justice working out a deal with ICE not to ship him back to Italy. It would require a whole host of things, including making good to the victims. They must be made whole before the DOJ can even consider it.I don't think the

I know about them too. I'm not an immigration lawyer, but I am aware of the triggers, etc. But, I must confess, that because I specialize in and appeals, I never say never. It is my nature to look for loopholes and find any argument I can use to the very end. I just hope they are getting good counsel if they are going

He moved here as a toddler with them.

I know that, but there is a possibility that the justice department, if he makes restitution to the victims and the government with interest, might work out a plea deal that would give him significant jail time while working something out with immigration. It's been done before and, believe me, his lawyer has known

For some reason, he feels he will be vindicated. There's literally photographic evidence of him doing it (the license) and the documents he used. Now they're gonna go for all ten years. He certainly wouldn't get the four year deal. He's a non-violent offender, he wouldn't have served all that time. And, that he did it

I don't know if they don't have status as legal residents. But, this could trigger an investigation.

Not necessarily. There are pleas the federal government could enter into with him that might save him from deportation. A couple recently fought a deportation case all the way up to SCOTUS. They lost, but it is worth a try.

It will be something their immigration lawyer try to use. The kids are gonna be his ticket if he gets to stay. It may not work, but taking a father away from white kids is not done lightly. He is a repeat offender, so that will weigh heavily against them.

Well, not exactly. He has to hang around until he stands trial. He'll be a guest of the government until he serves his sentence in the federal pen. They might not deport him because of his kids, though. He's been here since he was a kid which also might impact it. I guess he never applied for a change in citizenry

Even the forgery of a driver's license is gonna result in jail time. He rejected a plea deal to serve up to four years in prison. Now it is going to trial and if he's found guilty, it will be even longer. The state will get a crack at him first, so he could very well be defending this case from prison. What a dummy.

I have a feeling that that is just bluster on the part of politicians who want to get people stirred up.

Those exist here? What are they defending?

I agree that this is anti-feminist. Many women have chronic conditions related to their periods and it incapacitates them. It can be solved by covering it with sick days for a chronic condition just like any other chronic condition that may make someone unable to work for a few days. It is unfair to men and it is
