Thanks for the info. Is the service still available only on PS4/PS Vita? I don’t have my Vita anymore and my PS4 is in the basement and I’d be more interested in this on devices like PC and Android TV (NVidia Shield). Provided my internet connection gets better eventually... (because 25mbps or about for the whole

Now, this is starting to become pretty decent for those interested in streaming their games. I definitely don’t have the network infrastructure to benefit from this anymore, but I’m curious about its performance. Has anyone experienced the service lately? How’s lag? Image quality? On what type of connection?

It brings in considerably more money because most online anything (not all but most) is based on paying for consumables to gain advantages over other players. And even if some companies say paying is optional, it is always rigged to make life insanely harder for those not wanting to pay.

What age made me realize, is that I don’t “need” to play the current big thing anymore. I have a huge backlog of games to play, so I rarely feel the “need” to buy anything recent. The problem with this, is that I’m the type of consumer those companies want to get rid of. The consumer that always end up buying games

I’m sure companies like Nintendo did their math, and they probably figured out that a model like this would generate more revenues for them. I personally always find these calculations wonky and a bit ridiculous, as since each game is different, each game have their different appeal to different people, it’s almost

I think it’s not just a question of criticism or nobody being ever happy. The problem (well, the one I see), is that while I agree there is no too small an action, we are often more focused in telling others what to do, or ask “companies and governments” to do more, without realizing that we’ll be the first to

Same situation here. In fact, I’d go one step further and say that the only ones I’ve seen saying XB1 and/or PS4 are “adult” consoles, are actually teens. I mean, we’ve all been there. I still remember the same thing being said back then in the N64 era, when the PS1 was the console much “grown ups” were playing. I was

And in Canada, it’s $80 + sales taxes which amount to around $92, more or less. Which is very expensive for us (we used to pay the same $60 as you guys, not so long ago, and our salaries weren’t raised to compensate for poor exchange rate). So this also plays a role in determining if a game is worth buying. With our

Yeah, I’m playing on PC as well. I have all consoles + PC, and I love the PC for that aspect (even if it starts to become a nuisance with every fcuknig company under sun trying to have their own fcuknig launcher and store)... I love the simplicity of the consoles, and the PC, for a moment, was almost there too. It’s

It’s not really how this works. Let’s say at some point in time, we both earned the same amount of money weekly (let’s say $1000 U.S. and $1000 CDN for the sake of this example). Games were priced the same too ($60 US. and $60 CDN). So fast forward today with the current exchange rate. You’re still earning $1000 US. I

...this movement towards an exclusively streaming landscape is motivated more by corporate greed than providing any sort of value to the consumer.

In another post, I mentionned that it depends, ultimately, in how people see games. If you see them as “experiences”, then it is far easier to consider the whole “games as a service” idea. But some other people don’t see them exactly in the same way.

Personnaly, I see them like I see books, music or movies. I

I won’t go as far as to call this “nonsense” at large, but I get your point. This type of thing probably makes sense for more casual gamers. Or at least those who view mobile gaming, in this case, in a more casual manner. It is a “Netflix-like” mentality, which suits many people, I think.

I didn’t say I’d quit “video games”. I said I’d quit playing “modern” videogames. I’ve been playing games since the pong days, reading magazines, got involved in gaming podcasts, maintained a website with a huge database related to thousands of games. It’s definitely not something I do just to kill time.

The old years of yore are quickly becoming antiquated.

What’s frightening in some way, is that this mentality seems to spread across the globe at an alarming rate. People don’t want to put knowledgeable and experienced persons in power. They want people that speak at their level.

People used to trust scientists, engineers, reporters, etc.
Now, they say these people are

I understand your point, and agree somewhat to it, but this is sure to be a real shitty 50 inch TV at that price. Like, Walmart RCA bargain model at $300 with a single HDMI port and crap image quality. lol!

But joke aside, I agree. This is exactly how this works.

And the beauty of it, is that people actually think that

I’m happy that there are options for everyone, but what does everyone keep on their phones that they need so much storage?

Living north of the border, I’d say the image we get from you guys is that a good chuck of your population seems to actually like voting for a person that is a fucking joke and an insult. ;)

But joke aside, we’re entering the pre-election period in Canada right now, and even when I think our candidates are completely

Looks awesome. But no way I’m going to pay near $100 for such a remake. Living in Canada, with sale taxes, full price releases are bordering that price (like, $92 or something).
