It’s pretty clearly satirizing Pokémon and the whole “happy animal enslavement/combat” subgenre with legitimate commentary. Someone might not like or agree with it, but satire and social commentary are both valid forms of expression, even in video games.

Here’s the thing A.I doomers don’t seem to grasp. Could you make a game using nothing but A.I and no human artists? Yes. Would it look as good as assets made by humans and thus justify not using any human artists? Fuck no!

Yes, AI absolutely will be a factor in games development, as it becomes inextricably woven into the tools used to make games—no matter how negative that may be—because: capitalism.

If you really lean into the road trip aspect, the game is beautiful. Being asked to choose a photo at the end of the game is genuinely heartbreaking when you realize what it means. The complicated relationship between Noctis and his father really hits home at the end as well.

Why the free negativity toward MacFarlane?
I was expecting more details about the skin, not a review about an interview.

Yeah, read the article, expected Set MacFarlane to pull a Peter, instead he talks pretty normal throughout the whole interview.

Feels whoever wrote that paragraph is trying to be a sensationalist blogger at their worst.

Came to comments for the same question.  Author seems to have a bone to pick with the guy.  Comparing the last 3 paragraphs to the actual video is jarring.

Any news on them patching fun into the game? Was surprised to see it didn’t make the cut at launch :~)

P0kemon and the newer Zelda games for me.

For BotW and TotK, they’re just too big and I definitely burned myself out on open-world games from 2005-2015. I just see the big maps with tons of little side quests and I lose motivation.

Aside from that, Pokemon is one of those franchises that I still try to get into for

Ewing is back to regularly posting and streaming because cancel culture is a myth and everything sucks.

That decision is way worse for Google as it would allows ANYBODY, not just Epic Games, to be allowed to use their own payment systems and application installers (I.E. “Game stores”). Like Microsoft, as stated in the articles.

Americans use the terms “cultural appropriation” and evenblack face” so incorrectly they’ve completely lost all meaning. You stupid fucks need to figure out what you’re upset about quick because one day something actually offensive will happen and we won’t have the language to describe it

I hate that the nemesis system is patented. Imagine how much better it could be if other game developers were allowed to innovate off of it instead of fearing a bunch of lawsuits.

compassion, respect, and integrity

It’s a pretty interesting term, though. Crocs are known to shed tears while eating, so way back in the BCE times it was a saying that crocodiles wept for their victims as they ate them. The saying basically called out people who privately wished harm on others but then publicly mourned for them after harm befell them

The term indie is fuzzy but as far as “could they even be nominated,” yes, they have been. I’m pretty sure Celeste (2018), Hades (2020), and Stray (2022) qualify by most people’s definitions of indie, and all of them were nominated for Game of the Year. Winning might still be a long shot, but I don’t think it’s

If you want to use a more literal definition of ‘snub’ (rebuffed, ignored, spurned disdainfully) Hogwarts Legacy fits that bill to a tee. Considering the conversation around the game, it was obvious it wasn’t going to be nominated regardless if it was good or bad.

Quite frankly, the only thing that makes any Bethesda game worth playing is exploration. The designers themselves have stated that they always build their worlds first, and then write stories around them, which is why so many design choices in past games have always felt like an afterthought, because they basically

if its a fallout game, they removed everything that made fallout interesting.

sooooooo then Spiderman 2 shouldn’t be on the list either by that logic.

“Once you get bored of the sandbox stuff” - legitimately haven’t and still find things to fuck around with after all this time and have trouble putting it down once I start playing - Spiderman 2 hasn’t done the same for me
