Not only are there so very few of them, but those that are known are behemoths. Diablo, obviously, then Titan Quest, Torchlight, Grim Dawn

Path of Exile.

They were absolutely shutting down any emulators and rom sites they could during that era too. This is far from new for them.

Oh boy, more live service games. And so happy the microtransactions market is banging, I’m really looking forward to more of that too.

If you think the “dungeons” in ToTK are anything like the proper dungeons in previous games I don’t know what to tell you. The dungeons in ToTK are just a series of interconnected shrines.

It is and they acknowledged it in the first sentence?

Highly disappointing, but expected. I knew the Zelda that I loved was gone for good after BotW released.

Fuck.....

I guess the House of Mouse needs to make an ill-advised purchase of a social media platform then immediately run it into the ground to truly be considered financially successful, huh? 🤔

Lol its so funny to see people write “Well people just write bad reviews when characters are race swapped.” Bullshit. They write bad reviews when the shows are terrible. Velma is just an unfunny embarrassment that should have never been made. Its just an easy out for people to say “Well the reviews are bad because

This is a weird defence. As a former game programmer, it definitely is due to poor programming or poor optimisation if a single-platform game can’t maintain stable performance on the only platform it’s released on. If you want to make a more demanding game, you either make it for a platform that can handle it or you

I love Zelda games but I want an actual Zelda game, not these bland open worlds with Zelda themed stuff plunked in at random. They can shove their $70 expansion pack. Bring back REAL Zelda games.

I have such a hard time figuring out why this game (and BotW) are games that a vast majority believe to be the godsends of the millennium. Like. They are fine. Just fine. I find better world-building, plot, and even combat in other Zelda titles and games. In BotW you can climb anything....with plenty of dedication

I think it’s a bit weird that nobody is factoring in the performance of the game. Reviewers are bashing AAA games left and right for performance problems lately and I don’t think excusing TotK having a fluctuating 20-30 fps frame rate is healthy either.

I mean people are still giving James Stephanie Sterling shit for giving the last one a 7/10.

It is the main reason I am doubting the quality of reviews for TOTK. Journalists just absolutely love that game to the point that they ignore every fault it has. Doesn’t help that a lot of them are 35-40 year olds who grew up on Nintendo and are basically Nintendo Adults (like Disney Adults)

This perfectly describes my experience with BotW. Also, IMHO, LttP is the better Zelda game.  And Elden Ring is a better open world.

wow, i’ve found my people in this thread

Thanks for commenting this. I feel insane sometimes thinking that way about the game. There is a lot to like about BOTW and those mechanics aren’t inherently bad, but they are not implemented in an enjoyable way in this game. The crafting is okayish, and the fetch-questy stuff can be fine, but the weapon durability
