Microsoft was also the first to charge for online multiplayer while Sony didn’t. Microsoft bought Bethesda and then immediately announced Starfield as an Xbox console exclusive. That’s not bringing games to everyone, as Microsoft loves to say. I can easily see Microsoft keeping a regular CoD game on Playstation while

The article is just drenched in outrage. This is on par with the kind of burn-it-all-down writing you find in response to a tweet about how maybe a 25% tip for take-out is a bit much.

This. We (collectively) seem to have gone from bemoaning the heavy crunch in art and animation to clutching our pearls at the idea of it being less labour-intensive.

Most of the white hair options in games aren’t great either. It’s always a bummer during a character creator. Nioh 2 had a pretty good system for hair. Wish hair had a better focus in general, especially when there’s a character creator.

The Super Paper Mario fiasco comes to mind as well. I’m sure that cock-up was egg on a lot more faces at Nintendo than his but in reading all the interviews and such it really sounds like he was the most instrumental in the decision to neuter the Paper Mario series as a result of that.

All I can say is, holy shit. Kojima’s probably giggling uncontrollably at home as he learns people figured it out.

that’s bullshit. People have d&c’s in states where health care is allowed for the purpose of abortion, even with a heartbeat. She had the d&c in the hospital, rather than self managing with medication at home because of her history.

“The only moral abortion is my abortion.”

They should’ve did what Sony did, same internals and hardware so there’s no power disparity, and just dropped the disc drive and made it a digital Series X. Instead they doubled down, no disc drive and far less capable hardware, I get what they were going for but it’s clearly becoming a bit of an issue now for

No, no they have not. That is a flat out lie. Sony has NOT bought any mega publishers with dozens of studios and TONS of IPs that have already existed on competitor consoles for years (and sell better on those consoles to boot). Sony has bought the odd development studio (usually one making games for them exclusively

Mergers are inevitable.

Now playing

It’s a huge merger, and huge mergers are ultimately bad for consumers, especially in already-rapidly consolidating industry like video games, to say nothing of the employees that will undoubtedly get laid off after the merger is approved. It’s not about just CaLl oF DUtY.

Yeah... nobody’s issue with this merger has anything to do with whether or not Microsoft will handle the IPs well.

What CMA argument? CMA is literally just including Microsoft’s own admission in their report, lol. Why do y’all think this is some kind of CMA opinion when Microsoft literally sent them the data?

Good job people! Keep blocking this acquisition. If Microsoft wants to compete, they should make compelling games. That is legitimately all that they need to do. Those billions of dollars could certainly make a lot of games - and with the right business acumen, a lot of *great* games.

Of all of Nintendo's games this year, Tears of the Kingdom is one of them.

Next he’s going to whine that Nintendo was outselling Activison playing cards, back in the 1920s.

Where do you think they got the money to buy Activision from? Cuz it sure ain’t from their “last place” Xbox revenue

I don’t understand, I played XII for 12 minutes and once I got to the combat I was in awe of how fucking awful it was. It’s so boring and uninteractive and I thought to myself there’s no way that I’m going to sit through a whole game of this trash.

FF XII is a frankengame and it shows (disappearing plot, badly spaced gambit upgrades, no way to just control all 3 PCs even though it could completely be implemented, 5 dungeons in a row with a single plot scene). IMO, worst FF and also the worst FF I’ve ever played.
